The ASUS GeForce GTX TITAN graphics card is now being offered on a pre-order basis. It is a chance for us to delve further into those gadgets that we have become so addicted to. You get expect to pay in the region of $1000 for this NVIDIA creation. The makers have stated that it is an entry level compute card but we feel that the sophisticated features mean that it is likely to go further up the production chain. At the same time we note that it is 3 times cheaper than the Tesla K20. The decision to buy such a product is not going to be taken lightly but we recommend that you do not discount it completely because it has some serious features to offer. Once you have had a chance to experience the full technical options then you may feel that the old world of compromises is no longer appropriate.

ASUS GeForce GTX TITAN Product Features

The first thing that you will notice is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 chipset. This is a byword for quality. The brand is already powerful but this chipset takes that notion up one level. You get 4GB GDDR5 video memory as well as a 512-bit memory interface. The Bus is the PCI-Express 3.0 x16 variety. The product offers a maximum resolution of 2560 pixels by 1600 pixels. It is the best way of bringing all your favorite games to life. It has a NVIDIA Surround multi-monitor gaming experience which is compressed onto a single card. A number of connectors are provided for your convenience including the DVI-I, DVI-D and the Mini DisplayPort. This time has a Dual 28nm GPU and also boasts 4 GB GDDR5.

The NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync is able to adjust the VSync to current frame rates. This allows you to enjoy maximum playability regardless of the specific game you have selected. There is the branded GPU Boost technology which maximizes clock speeds in a very dynamic way. This means that you can significantly enhance the performance of all the gadgets that are contributing to your gaming experience. There is also the small mater of the PCI Express 3.0 which is capable of delivering double the bandwidth per lane of a PCIe Gen 2. This creates a much faster form of GPU-to-CPU communication.
All that technical prowess is packed in a product that weighs 2.9lbs and measures 11” by 1.9” by 4.4”. If that is not portability then we do not know what is. This is a worthwhile investment especially if your computer entertainment always includes gaming. We love the fact that there are thoughtful items in the box such as a Display Port adapter. The design of the card should not be so important but in this instance they have excelled. They use a brushed metal casing and there is a pointed lack of plastic. In other words it looks good and performs very well.

Setting the hefty price aside; the ASUS GeForce GTX TITAN is actually good value for money. It will enable you to have a new perspective on gaming in general. Try it and you will never turn back.
